Dr. Kamalakannan Kailasam and Dr. Kiran Shankar Hazra, Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) Habitat Center visited to Saitama University
Dr. Kamalakannan Kailasam and Dr. Kiran Shankar Hazra, Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) Habitat Center visited to Saitama University (SU) from July 30th to August 4th, 2017. The purposes of their visit were to give seminars by Dr. Kailasam and Dr. Hazra as young excellent researchers and discussing our future collaboration between INST and SU.
On August 1st, Dr. Kamal gave a seminar that was entitled “Versatility of Graphitic Carbon Nitrides as Heterogeneous Photo Catalyst and Sensing Applications”. Dr. Kiran also gave a seminar “Laser Induced Surface Manipulation of Some Selected 2D Layered Nanomaterial”. Most of the professors and the students of Nakabayashi – Yoshikawa Lab joined the seminar and asked them a lot of questions, which resulted in vigorous discussion.
Dr. Kamal and Dr. Kiran went to the lab tours at SU during their stay. They met Prof. Shirai, Prof. Ueno and Prof. Futamata in order to deepen their understanding about lab facilities and their studies.
Dr. Kiran and Dr. Kamal also visited Kamakura and Kawagoe as their excursion. They saw historical statues and enjoyed the historical atmosphere there.
It was their first visit to Japan. They stayed 7 nights in Saitama and spent fruitful days.
Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) is an autonomous institution affiliated to Department of Science and Technology (DST) and has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India.
